The PC12SX is the concentrated embodiment of all that SR learned during development of their flagship SRX PowerCell. Chock full of many of the same high-tech goodies at a fraction of its big brother's wallet-blistering price tag! The most visible of these are the trio of SRX XL EM Cells seen in the front window of the unit. These EM elements are swiped wholesale from the flagship unit and are vastly larger in diameter than the ones used in the PowerCell 14. These are what give the PC12SX its big sound and huge heart, while delivering impressive refinement and purity to make your heart pound!

The PC12SX uses these SRX XL EM Cells to generate active-field conditioning. In essence, this means creating a live electromagnetic architecture which quite literally reshapes the electrical waveforms passing through the unit, cleansing them of noise and distortion. This tech isn't even in the signal path! SR's ULF tech (described in a later tab) further modifies the electromagnetic field within the unit and in the room creating an optimized electrical environment for your components to operate within.

The PC12SX inherits three core technologies from the SRX PowerCell flagship conditioner

SRX Electromagnetic Cell Architecture
Three full-size SRX XL EM Cells cover the three legs of the AC waveform; hot, neutral and ground. These  cells are identical in geometry, materials, and UEF compounds to those used in the flagship, forming the heart of the PC12SX's unified-field design. These cells are hand-built, feature an air-dielectric, and are precision-encased in carbon fiber; the same massive cells deployed in the SRX PowerCell. These EM Cells act like a ‘Super Capacitor’ increasing peak on-demand current for added dynamic headroom, so components may draw more current than they could if connected directly to the wall.

Active Ultra-Low Frequency (ULF) Biasing Circuitry
The PC12SX receives the same ultra-low-frequency generator used in the SRX PowerCell, as well as a number of other SR products. Describing the ULF Bias circuit in its most simplified form, this is a built-in Schumann Resonance generator. The Schumann Resonance is actually a series of ultra-low frequency pulses generated during thunderstorms which clear spurious electromagnetic frequencies (EM) and radio frequencies (RFI) from the air. The Schumann Resonance effect is why the air feels so calm and serene after a storm. Inside a component, the ULF Bias circuit does much the same thing, filtering out ambient RF and extreme high-frequency noise in the system and the room which would otherwise degrade sound. In essence, the ULF Bias circuit continually "resets" the electrical environment inside the unit as well as out in the room, all while operating entirely outside of the signal path.

Parallel Ground Topology
Adapted from the SRX’s triple-bank EM Cell network, this construction maintains very high grounding potential within the unit, improving black levels and reducing noise. There is a further advantage,  as running the PC12SX's ground planes in parallel eliminates the potential for ground plane distortions which could affect power delivery, especially as current demand rises.

SR's unified field approach to component design (EM, ULF and Ground solutions) stabilizes the electromagnetic environment for the entire system, eliminating the field discontinuities which would otherwise exist between the three PowerCells. This gives the PC12SX a far lower noise floor, greater dynamic contrast, and unmatched coherency, elements which no passive design can match.

Unified Power Distribution
The PowerCell 12 SX features 12 Pink Quantum Outlets, each benefiting from SR's proprietary two-stage Quantum Treatment, for maximum conductivity and minimal contact resistance. All outlets share a unified electromagnetic field through the three dedicated SRX XL EM Cells.

Large 10AWG Silver Matrix point-to-point discrete wiring connects each outlet to the SRX XL cells, maintaining absolute signal integrity while delivering full electromagnetically conditioned power to all connected components without restriction. The PC12SX is voiced to mate with all of SR's power cords (all the way up to the mighty SRX XL) through shared UEF compounds and Bias Frequency, thus uniting the signal path from wall to component.

Zero Compromise Current Delivery
PowerCells are absolutely non-current-limiting, the only potential limitation is the power cord which connects them to the mains. Designed to generate deep black backgrounds with unfettered instant access to enormous amounts of current, power from the PC12SX arrives without restriction and fully conditioned! SR believes that even amplifiers deserve high-quality power, so connect your amplifier to  the PC12SX and you'll hear explosive dynamics, effortless transients, and complete tonal authority. This is why you should connect your entire system into your PC12SX.

Your Music, Your Preference
The PowerCell 12 SX features two selectable ULF bias frequencies - Red or Blue. Each setting changes how the system interacts with the acoustic space:

Blue Bias: Voiced for acoustic and small-scale performances; enhances tonal purity, intimacy, and air
Red Bias: Optimized for large-scale orchestral and electronic recordings, emphasizing dynamics and spatial phase effects

There is no wrong choice! These bias settings aren't in the signal path and they don’t color the music. Instead, they tune the EM field within the conditioner, allowing you to shape the way the music is presented, much like how a mastering engineer voices their mix.

A simple press of the button on the rear switches between settings. Select whichever option makes music sound more real and brings you closer to the original performance.
